More Sisters Quilts and Portland

Here are a few more quilt pictures from Sisters OR. They were all just beautiful.

A friend in South Carolina had a friend in Portland OR who agreed to play tour guide for us. Susan was just wonderful. She took us along the river gorge and we hiked/viewed all the fabulous waterfalls. Absolutely beautiful.

We visited the sturgeon/rainbow trout farm. Herman the sturgeon is "huge". I was wishing for a fishing pole and some salmon eggs... :-)))

Went to Mt St Helens. That's a spectacular sight.
Susan took us to all the great places to eat. A few of us ate clam chowder every place we could get it. The last restaurant we went to had seafood chowder...Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
We had lots of laughs....

Susan gets A++++ for her tour guide efforts. She succeeded.

We took a tour of her studio which is the entire basement floor of her house. Complete with a kitchen and full bathroom.

Next post I'll tell you about a place called "Fabric Depot" (its about 5 times the size of Mary Jo's in NC) and the chinese gardens.

Profile Picture

I have used the beautiful face of a commisioned frog doll. Made by Terry Waldron. She does fabulous work. The piece she crafted for me suites me to a "T". Go Terry!

More Sisters Quilt Pictures

I am showing some more quilt pictures from the Sisters town show. I have so many but I included a few applique ones for those who like applique. You know who you are.

From the sewing room I have quilted another 2 love (charity) quilts, completed a love flimsy and almost have a small childs top finished.

My orphan bin is busting so I am concentrating on reducing it. I really like piecing but wonder how all those blocks got in there :-)

Come back for the Portand adventures which will include waterfall pictures. They are spectacular.

Vacation Recovery

What a trip! Aside from starting with a sinus infection and having multiple allergy attacks the trip was wonderful. I think I am back on eastern time.

Seattle was grey and misting with the last day being sunny.

Sisters OR was an experience for all quilters and non-quilters. Seeing so many quilts makes your head spin. I took lots of pictures and here are a few. I like the scrappy ones and odd styles. My two good friends Margaret, Kay and I kept us all laughing. There was never a dull moment. They even had vendors and a wonderful quilt shop.

I even arranged to visit Bonnie who used to live here and was in our quilt guild. It was good to see her in person.

More pictures and adventures to come.

Nothing much quilty except I did finish a love (charity) quilt that I had started before leaving for camping in the mountains on Thursday. And I did bind 2 love quilts traveling to and from. We had a lovely time and the cooler temps were wonderful.

Happy 4th of July

In honor of the 4th here is a patriotic frog statue in front of my purple challenge quilt.

I am packing to go camping in the mountains of NC. Leaving today for a long weekend. I hope Mr. Trout is bitting cause I'm ready to put my wadders on and get in the water. (frogs don't wear wadders :-) )

I'm taking two love (charity) quilts to stitch the binding on while riding to and from. Also taking a couple stitcheries from Jenny of ELEFANTZ Check out her blog she has a stitchery free to download. These are so relaxing to work on and very pretty. Here are the ones I have finished and I have another one that just needs some leaves.
