Linda's Quilt, Scrappy Love

I completed this quilt on the left and presented it to a friend at work. Linda is going through a difficult patch right now. I was glad I could provide comfort to her.
I recently gifted her sister Susie with one and I know for a fact she is enjoying it.
This is my second year selecting a couple people in need of comfort. This makes me feel so good!
On the right is a large quilt top I put together this past weekend. I had the squares finished, they were waiting patiently. There is also a pile of dark background with light strips splitting them... They too are waiting to be sewn into a quilt top. The squares finish at 6.5 inches including the seam allowances.
I wonder which scrappy pattern will emerge next.... Stay tuned.......

Pet Quilts, Scraps and Make Do Light Box

Here are the latest pet quilts I took to the animal hospital in town. They really appreciate these and the animals just love them.

I needed a light box (I don't have one) and took my sewing machine extension table and placed a ott light underneathe and walah. A light box!!!

I received my Double Wedding Ring GO Die and had to experiment. I used the solid arc and created this little quilt top. It'll be going to the animal hospital when its quilted. I did learn a few things sewing it together. So it was good practice.
A friend, Joyce gave me a pile of scraps and I have been playing with them. They are SO MUCH FUN!!! Thanks Joyce. Always appreciated. :-)))

Mr FQ wants to get the computer so I think I'll go continue with my applique...

Rejected but still loved

This is a collection of scrap blocks from others, making too many and rejected blocks due to various reasons. Making strip sets and separating by either a 3 or 2.5 inch strip I've created a unique quilt top. Someone will love it.

Have accomplished quite alot this weekend. Still more to go.

BTW Mr FQ noticed the star blocks that are messed up. LOL

My latest project

This is my latest project. A good sized lap quilt for a friend. She'll really like it for her couch...
I've been trying to empty or reduce the 2.5 inch blocks and 2.5 inch strips (so I can process some more). I have always wanted to try this pattern. I love it and it goes together SO QUICKLY. I double stitched the light triangles (started with squares) and have bonus parts. I debated the border and a dark 3 inch strip won. What do you think about the pattern and or the colors?
I loaded the top this morning and I plan to quilt it today in addition to other quilty things.
Sebastian was my constant companion in the sewing room. He is doing much better since his steriod shot. He is hardly coughing at all and runs around with Tinker Belle like a kitten.

New Shoes

Many ofus wear clarks shoes for comfort and durability. In the last year I have had 2 or 3 pairs of shoes where the upper (leather) part starts to separate from the sole. The last pair this happened on was a beautiful burgundy color mule. One of my favorites, wearing them with jeans was perfect.

I decided these shoes are very expensive and I'm going to do something about it (or just try). I searched the web for the clarks web site and contacted them. I promply received a reply asking for the number on the inside of the upper shoe. I sent the information back and was pleasantly surprised when the email came asking me to select a new pair from one of 3 web sites they provided. I received my new shoes in about 2 weeks. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The shipping box is a perfect place for Tinker Belle to stalk her victims. She is turning into a very loving kitty.

Next post will be quilty....Frog Quilter
