Orphans find a home

This long weekend I have been busily trying to tame the orpan block bin. I have managed to put together a medium size quilt top (the one with lots of orange), a red white and blue top which will need borders to make it larger. I've also sewed 6 pet quilt tops AND quilted them.

Still there is a pile (a big pile). I have grown tired of looking at the mess so last night I scooped them up and jammed them back in the orphan bin.

I feel like I've worked enough on this effort and will go onto other funner things. More creativity...

Blogger - I tried unsuccessfully yesterday to post 3 different times. I couldn't get the pictures to load. Very frustrating...

Thanksgiving here was nice and quiet. A dedicated sew day except for preparing our thanksgiving dinner which was yummy...

Organizing, Cats, Love Quilt

I caught the kitties all lying in one area basking in the sunshine. How cute.

Yesterday I received and put together the shelf that I ordered from Walmart (free shipping). I put it together myself (simple assembly and no tools required). So I have been emptying bins and refolding fabric. I need to see what I have. Oooh and all the pretty fabrics. Just Lovely.

A love quilt in process. I started last sunday and had completed all but one row which I finished yesterday. I used a panto called chocolate leaves. It really put some nice texture into this quilt.

I have alot to get done today - quilting, quilting and more quilting.

A funny - Mr FQ saw the shelf and thought I was going fabric shopping LOL. NO I HAVE ENOUGH for the moment.Frog Quilter

Don's Quilt, Tinker Belle

This is the quilt I started last night and finished today at noon. Pieced by Linda McNabb. It's for her husband Don who is a sweetheart. I used a oak panto and I think it came out fabulous. Ignore all the white basting stitches.

One the right is Tinker Belle keeping my seat on the couch warm. She' really matured into a loving kitty.

It feels so good to be home and able to sew. My Bernina 200 is home from the sewing machine hospital and will get thorough testing this weekend. Maybe I'll get it to embroider - finally....

Headed for Houston, Star Crazy and Tinker Belle

Am leaving in the morning for houston for the big show. My first time!

I'll leave you with my new bed quilt which sleeps fabulous and a picture of Tinker Belle. She made it through her surgery just fine but decided to eat rope and a dryer sheet. These two items made her pretty sick for a few days. She is better now and back to herself. And loving on me regularly.... Such a sweety!

Look for a post next week.
