Morning starters and beauty!

My DH always has a fire started so we can have coffee.

The morning beauty of mist laying amongst the mountain side.

And then there is fishing, my favorite activity (other than quilting). When I fish all other worlds go away.

That's a heavy haul, about 1/2 mile back to the camp site. I did catch two more fish in the afternoon run, both big. No stitching today although I brought my hexes, they are in the truck....

Sunday Therapy

I started my Sunday morning with bread baking. YUM!!!!

I love to bake and you just can't beat anything made from scratch.

Last night I quilted another top, with feathers. A very feminine looking quilt enhanced with feathers. Some areas have "creative stitching" and that makes it unique. The long patchwork strips came from a scrap bag from Joyce. She is so good about keeping me in scraps. I really appreciate it!!!! I added the smaller strips and the border. I love this creativity in making beautiful quilts from your scraps.

This one has the binding stitched on.

A close up

Today I stitched the binding on this top and another.

Here is Blackie checking out the progress of my hexie project. I am really pushing to get it finished as I want to get back to my appliqué projects.

Hope each of you got quilt therapy this weekend.

Feathers galore

I finished this quilt last night while listening to Bonnie sew on the quilt cam. It makes you feel like being at retreat. This is my scrappy tumbler quilt. It used up a pile of scraps. (there are plenty more LOL).

A close up of how I joined feathers going in different directions. The tumblers were cc'd using free motion.

The back. It is just as pretty as the front.

I have another top on the frame. More feathers. I think I'm obsessed. You Know what they say "Practice makes perfect". Well nothing is exactly perfect. I am having a relaxing time and that is what keeps me sane!

New acquisitions

While on my Carribean cruise with hurricane Earnesto I bought two frogs to add to my massive collection. The white one is a gem stone and the brown one is hand carved. My other frogs welcomed them, gribbit!

I bought this fabric from the quilt shop in Aiken SC which by the way is closing at the end of this month. There are some great deals to be had.

The next group of fabrics came from a quilt shop in Florida on the drive home from Cape Canaveral.

I plan to get lots of quilting done this weekend. Hope you do too!

Customer T Shirt Quilt

This was a commission from Indiana. The lady/girl is a champion dancer.

The small color patchwork was her cap that I took apart.

The back with embroidered message. A wonderful commission. I'm hoping to get more.

I am back from my cruise, more on that later. Catching up on all my laundry.
