Teaser Revealed

Yesterday I shared a snippet of a T Shirt quilt on the frame. Here it is!

I love how it finished. Even hubs liked it. We are both veterans which makes these type of quilts extra special.

Don't you just love the tip of my blue slipper. How did that get in the picture.

Today will be another busy day. I got the fabric I needed for the borders on the other T Shirt quilt. I am sure I will be spending a lot of time in my quilting room. Happy stitching.

Friday

Today has been a very busy day. This morning a friend met me at the interstate to give me 10 lbs of shrimp. Then on to some errands.

I loaded and quilted a T Shirt quilt and it gave me a smile seeing it finished.

I started quilting around 1 pm. It came off the frame around 6pm. I will photograph it tomorrow morning early and post. So happy with the results. Even hubs liked it.

While this was quilting (I used my computerized quilter) I was cleaning up a mess. Recently I had cut a bunch of drunkard patch blocks using the accuquilt and I had a pile on the floor. It looked like this.

The teal jacket there needs a little tailoring on the sleeves. All the unusable parts have been cut and trashed. I have a nice ironed pile to strip up.

While I was dead heading flowers I spotted this beautiful butterfly.

Check back for more progress.

The result and other progress

I finished the fairy quilt and it made me S M I L E! I guess that is progress as I have been practicing.

And the back. I love how it finished!!!!!

I have been Working on two full size T Shirt quilts. One became a flimsy yesterday. I emailed the customer a picture and she loved it. The next one could become a flimsy tonight. These two quilts are to honor a soldier, who gave his life for his country. One is for the widow and one for the baby girl who is a year old. I have done a bonus quilt for her in happy bright colors.

My supper is in my new pressure cooker (a roast with carrots, celery and potatoes). It can also be used for a browner, steamer, crock pot, warmer. So far I like it

Hubs is taking me into the woods tonight to see the deer.

Playing with feathers

I have a QSC Kids for Quilts or is it Quilts for Kids lol. Anita received a box of fabrics from The Michael Miller company. I was given a panel and some fairy frost fabrics and told to get creative. I am doing feathers in the border pieces and a medium stipple on the panel. I am loving the effect so far.

More later.

Busy busy Busy

It has been a very busy weekend. I met most of the goals that I set.

So last night I put together some yeast waffle recipe to purculate over night.

And the result from my old waffle iron. I have been using this for over 25 years...

YUM. I made a double batch and froze them. When you want one you just get them from the freezer and pop in the toaster...Mmmmmm. Hubby's eyes were glazed over when he found out lol.

I have been making little spools. Cute. They will finish at 3 inches.

Nancy donated quite a few top to be quilted and then turned in. Love Quilts.

I used fishy fabric for the back.

Hope everyone had a quilty weekend, enjoying the art of fabric, needle and thread.

Fabric processing

I have been processing a mountain of scraps lately. I have cut 2.5, 2, 1.5 strips. then I started with 3.5 blocks and 2.5 with the rest. So now I have a pile of smaller scraps that will be 2.5 blocks. My cutting board is a mess.

This picture was worse earlier in the day.

I also worked on two T Shirt quilts. I have all of them backed with stabilizer and first cut. Now comes the design, the fun part.

Finishes and more

First my DH got a 4 point deer in full velvet. He was so pretty. This is number one for the freezer. We eat a lot of deer. YUM.

I love feathers . These quilts were quilted with feathers. It is so zen!!!!

This soft pink one was made from scraps from a friend. I kept the goal of keeping it looking "SOFT". Mmmmmmmmm

This one needs binding which is cut out and waiting for me.

I have another on the frame and I am practicing ruler work. I think that by the time I finish I will be very comfortable with rulers.

Time to get started in the quilt room...Yay!!!!!
