I fused some misty fuse on the back of this piece of decorator fabric. After it had completely cooled, I pulled the paper off and finished by fusing it to the existing fabric. It will do for now but I will be on the lookout for some inexpensive fabric to do it right. How do you keep your ironing board looking nice?

You don't; it's a tool to be used! I have made my last 2 covers using denim, it wears well, and I have had no problems with color transfers. I do try to put a cloth over my board if I'm using fusible products, though ~

Yeah, like Pokey says, it just gets grungy and burned as time goes by and you use it. I put a scrap cloth down, too, under things when I'm fusing so any hang-overs don't stick to my board cover. I also do a lot of this: "GET THOSE SHOES **OFF** THE IRONING BOARD NOW!!" ;D
ReplyDeleteNow that is an improvement (not that my ironing boards ever looked like that (snickering).....I can not tell you how many times I have had to replace mine.
ReplyDeleteI have one of the "silver" ones and it doesn't seem to do that. I have also used a cotton one and it looks like --well it looks bad!
ReplyDeleteMine looked like new for at least 5 years, until a friend came over for a sew day ;o)
