Feathers and more Feathers

This morning I loaded a QOV and proceeded to quilt it. A few hours later I had a beautiful quilt mostly done in feathers. There was some swirlies too.

The back outside on the deck. You can't really see the quilting.

This next picture was taken inside to show the quilting. The back is white tone on tone.

I added a few more postage stamp blocks. These are not strip pieced. I start with 1.5 inch blocks, and create10 by 10. I can finish one in about 40 minutes. I'm going to name this one Confetti.

More Scrappy Trip Blocks

My 2.5 inch strip drawer is busting it's lid so I've been making scrappy trip blocks. I like to keep a stack on hand. When I need a quilt in a hurry I grab the blocks and go. I have lots of other blocks made just waiting. The pile you see is 36.

A nice flower arrangement seen in Scotland this year. I love the vivid purple.

Weekend Quilting

Friday I quilted this top using a double bubble panto, free hand.

This quilt will be the one I turn in at the big Fons event in September.

Today I free handed this blue top using different designs. I think it came out rather nice.

I challenged myself with this top. It's not perfect but the more I stretch my skills the better I get.

Hope you are having a good weekend and are stitching something.

Catching Up

This a QOV I quilted last weekend. I started to post it but never finished.

Sweet Lucy snoozing.

Today I have going through piles of stuff like batting scraps, miscellaneous trying to clean up. Hubs installed a new kitchen faucet. The previous one just didn't last. We'll see how long this one goes.

We finished putting together the new patio table and chairs. Then the screened porch needed tidying. Looks really nice. I foresee many days sitting outside in nice comfy chairs. More tomorrow.

Home Sweet Home

We landed last night right before midnight. A friend picked up hubs and I from the airport and it was so nice to not have to haul all our luggage to the parking lot and drive home.

All kitties were fine and so glad to see us. They even let us sleep last night. This can be a issue at times.

This is the appliqué block that I prepped before coming home. I was going to stitch on it tonight but I'm sooooo tired and the bed is begging me to come back.

Back to work tomorrow. Yay!
