Weekend Update

Friday our QOV group met and we had a lovely time. Kathy turned in this top made from kit scraps and other assorted pieces parts. Did she do great at designing?

This is my pieces parts quilt which I will turn in to the binding group.

The scrappy back shows all the feather quilting.

I delivered A T-Shirt quilt to Lynn. Lots of smiles... This one will go to Sharion.

Love that bold bright blue.

Almost Finishes

LM gave me this top as part of her purging prior to moving. I am trying to quilt up some of the multitude of tops that I have made. I pull this one out "just for fun". Gave it some fun quilting. The backing is a piece I have had in my stash forever. It will be donated to warm a child.

This next one, is one I have experimented with. I will definitely make this quilt again with some minor but powerful changes.

This type of quilt make me oh so happy!

The quilting is all feathers. I used King Tut variegated lime thread on the top and Sew Fine lime thread on the back.

QOV

I have been trying to catch up, clean up my sewing area (a never ending battle). So one of the items to finish was a quilt top that was made from QOV scraps that were left over from making kits.

It only needed borders sewn. Did that. Next let's get this top loaded so it can goto the binding group and out of my house. Woohoo!

Pieces and parts all made there way here.

Of course I was short using all one fabric so I split the beige fabric and inserted another, blue fabric. Even the back has a personality.

Friday found me in St Matthews making silent auction gift baskets and door prize baskets. There are fifty something baskets made up. THERE IS STILL TIME TO GET YOUR TICKET to see Marriane and daughter Mary for day of fun. The event will raise funds for QOV so we can make more and more quilts. I have tickets if you would like to get one $60.00.

Friday Fun

This is the quilt I quilted today. Leaves in a earth color thread. Karen M pieced this top. Lovely colors, perfect for a guy.

This will make a veteran snugly this winter.

Busy as ever

Last weekend my husband I presented a QOV to hubs best friend. This quilt lay in the closet for months just waiting to be presented. Here is Rick looking and smiling at his quilt.

And while we are on the QOV subject there are still tickets available for Marianne and Mary Fons. They will be presenting two lectures and presenting QOV to a group of veterans. The event will take place at the armory in Columbia SC on September 20, 2014. I have tickets if you are interested for $60.00. This next picture is the one I will turn in that day.

All it needs is a label.

Update on my Benjamin Bigs quilt - I started on the border swag and am loving it. This is one of the long sides. Can't wait till I get some more color in it.
