Making More Stars

I've decided that I need more than nine stars. One of those is a creamy white fabric which I am on the fence for using. I like the idea of just pink and blue. I started making more stars.

I made two pet beds today as the fiber bag was over flowing. Lucy immediately claimed it. It will be going to the animal hospital in town.

Scrappy Star Progress etc

I have a total of nine stars now. I think I need another row, so three more will be made.

This love (charity) quilt was on the frame this morning. Left over batting, and variegated YLI thread on top and so fine in the bobbin. I still have left over batting lol.

And for you cat lovers this is Maestro in her new favorite napping spot.

More later.

Decision Made

This is definitely how I will finish this quilt. All reverse color blocks will be the same.

5 Stars and a new type block

After laying out my blocks I determined that after sewing them together it would be rather small. So I had a "What If" moment. I stitched a block last night and wow!

The black block is the reverse color and is fabulous. Yes I know I have a block turned the way in the green. I'm thinking of calling these blocks Comment Blocks.... What do you think

I now have 5 big stars. It's time to make more string diamonds.

I made hubby a little valentines basket. It was on the floor for picture taking and almost immediately Lucy was checking it out. Such a curious cat.

I put Reese's candy in the basket, one of hubs favorites.

More stitching today Yay!

Seeing Stars

I finished twelve blocks and when I put them on the floor together I realized that I would need more for a decent size quilt. I have some ideas percolating.

I love these stars I've been making. Even the Y seams! I'm almost out of the background fabric so I am going to have to get creative in fabric selection.

A Few More Blocks

I added a orange block today and last night I made another scrappy star.

More Blocks

This is where I left off last weekend.

I had a bag of miscellaneous flannel and a quilt curve ruler I want to try out. And I'm using up batting scraps. The next two pictures are quiltlets that have already gone to the animal hospital. I finish them with a zig zag on the edges. These were so much fun.

Since last time I have added purple as suggested by a few commenters. Also another green, a black. I have a orange cut out.

Oh what's that other block? I'm trying to use up strings and crumbs. This is a new pattern to me and I'm loving it. The pattern suggests using muslin for the background... BORING! A nice lite blue is perfect.

I have many string pieced diamonds finished waiting for their starring role. It makes a large block, larger than 16 inches.

Colorful Sunday

This is a mini of left over blocks, that all I needed was the border. I'm planning to ditch quilt this one and maybe extend the quilt lines into the border by hand quilting.

I had all these blocks laying around and it was time to assemble into a flimsy. I love all the different colors. So fun.

My latest block craze. I saw this pattern on a techie site at work looking for technical help. These finish at 12 inches (12.5 unfinished). What color should I do next?

Happy stitching!
