Folding and purging

In between cooking today I have been folding fabric, getting rid of the ones that are not 100% cotton and any that don't appeal to me.  I have been trying to move all the piles of fabric from the bathroom tub as I know, sometime soon the bathroom will be remodeled.  I expect my contractor to call any day now.

I really enjoyed visiting all my lovelies.

The closet will be filled to the brim when I finish.  The big yardage is on the bottom shelf.  Next shelf up is two plus yards.  Above that are one yard pieces.  There is even a colum for half yard cuts.

I will need to go through my drawers looking for pieces larger than one yard.

Still to fold are two big piles.

And

I put the biggest yardage on my empty bolts.

Almost time for turkey breast and all the fixings.  The pumpkin pies are baking now.  Yum!

Have a great evening and tomorrow morning is the first clue of Bonnie Hunters Mystery for 2015.  I'm ready!

Slow Stitching Sunday

Between yesterday and today I have sewn 92 6 inch crumb blocks.  This got rid of a big bag.

They will make a great quilt for someone.  They will join the other bagged blocks until I need them.

For the slow stitching part I am working on the last two hearts on my sprouts of love.  I thought for the longest time about the top border.  One day I thought "sprouts of love", they need heart flowers.  Perfect!

This quilt makes my heart happy.

The top is brighter in real life.  It was cloudy outside when I took this photo.

I am going to finish up the appliqué on these two hearts tonight.  Linking up with

Spool Top

I finished sewing the spool rows together this morning.  The cats were having too much fun re-arranging them lol and I got tired of looking at the rows on the floor.

I thought 500 spools would be bigger than this...  I love it though.  Now borders or not?

I continued de stashing a bag of crumbs and strips today.  I'll have a final count tomorrow after I trim them.  I bet I have enough blocks for a quilt top.

500 Spools

This is what 500 spools looks like.  This is a 6 X 8 setting.

Lots of scrappy goodness.  I'll show it sewn together later.

Lake Marion Piecemakers

Yesterday I had the pleasure of teaching the Lake Marion Piecemakers quilt guild my stain glass string quilt.  They all did really well and loved the no stress sewing.  They now have a new outlook on what you can do with string fabrics.  There were experienced quilters and new quilters in the class.

Their blocks on the wall.

And the class sample.

Thank you Joan and the Lake Marion Piecemakers.  I had a great time today including the yummy lunch and my "star".

Until next time,

Spools Explosion & Sprout Update

I have sewed my way through the second bag of 100 spools.  I will soon run out of wall space.  These are amazing.

This is where I left off last weekend.

After last night and this mornings effort.

Wow.  Lots of scrappy goodness!

My sprouts of love have progressed as well.  This morning I sewed the last column and the bottom borders.

Still contemplating the top border and side borders.  Any suggestions?

Today is another rainy gray day.  It might be grey outside but it's bright and colorful here in my sewing room.

Spools came out

Yep all 500 of them.  They have been sitting in a drawer just waiting...

I suspect this will become a queen size quilt.  I'm sewing them together in groups of nine.

I'm also working on a wall hanging that will be a Christmas gift.  I know she reads my blog so can't show it.

Enjoy your stitching today, it's pouring down rain and very grey outside.  Inside I have plenty of color to keep me happy.
