Broken Dishes Assembly & En Provence Step 1

I have SO MANY broken dishes in the 4.5 inch size so I have decided to start assembling them.  I have a feeling I will be needing a new leader enter project soon.  I also made broken dishes in the 3.5 inch size and there are MANY as well.

I also worked on step 1 of En Provence.  I'm using lots of fun neutral fabrics.  I have 40 trimmed and a pile more for sliver trimming. Linking to Quiltville  Enjoy!

Merry Christmas to me

I finished quilt my Christmas Quilt this morning after fighting the machine.  The binding fabric was selected, made and sewn on.  Now there will be some slow stitching in the evenings while I snuggle under it.

My New Christmas Flimsy

As promised I finished the Christmas top today.  I'm tickled pink with it.  Even hubs said it looked good with the funky border.  The border was in one of my donated scrap bags.

It all started innocent enough.  Looking in a bin to see what was in there.  Hmmmm a bag of nine patches, more fabric.  Fabrics were speckled white and a nice green fabric.  Hmmm I need a Christmas quilt.  So that was where I started.  All I can say is that I had a great time creating my Christmas quilt.  My room is a disaster but that is normal..  I will finish tomorrow.

My Weekend

I found this block tutorial on this http://sewpreetiquilts.blogspot.com/ A good simple idea and used it to start making blocks for a quilt of valor. I had fun experimenting with color and reversing the darks and lights. I even substituted string blocks too as a test. It all works.

Another love top from the closet.  Love this quilt design.

And the back.  Pieced with some very fun fabrics.

Log cabin experiment

These blocks www assembled from the string bags. Mostly blacks and neutrals in all different widths. Here is the progression of assembling this flimsy. The last picture will show where I am currently. I intend to add a border of some sort. I see that the top and bottom can be matched up.

Now the side columns need to be matched up.

Now I think that the blocks can be joined together.
The result, different and glad I got this out of my mind. I will add a border and quilt it up for a love quilt.

Almost black and white

I have been wanting to experiment with strings and log Cain blocks. You see these two bags of strings and chunks have been harassing me. I've put them to use and the bags HAVE gone down in size. I hope to finish this into a flimsy today. I am off from work. Yay! Maestro the Manx kitty is photo bombing. Enjoy.

Mini Eye Fooler Progress

After quilting the quilt of Valor top, I laid out my eye fooler blocks. I quickly assessed the new small blocks I would need.i ended up putting two rows together before running out of parts. I will continue the effort until the top is a flimsy. It's definitely time for this project to be headed to the quilting pile.

I honor veterans!

being a veteran myself, I personally know first hand the sacrifice they give. It is a honor which I respect. So I loaded a QOV I recently put together. It was a pleasure to quilt this top this morning. (I have more of them to quilt)

Little blocks

Last weekend I grabbed this bag of blocks and have been working on finishing the sashing pieces. I am making this top in a 4 X 5 setting. Each piece of the block finish at two inches. Lucy was doing a walk over checking the stitches. Enjoy!

Updates

I didn't post everything from last weekend. I did get another top quilted with lovely feathers.

This next one has its binding stitched and needs a wash, label and is ready for a new home. I am continuing quilting from my stack of love tops in the closet. I seem to be making a small dent, but it's progress. When you quilt like a maniac this pile grows so fast.

Feeling patriotic I found a panel and some nine patch blocks in the closet.  I attached the last two rounds this morning.  This is now ready for loading on the long arm.
