Round 1 done

That would be round one of Chemo.  Hubs sailed through it great.  All is good.  But guess what?  I got the side effects, nausea, head aches and feeling yucky.  How is that possible?  I'm better now.

I was cleaning out the flower pots on the porch.  A few months ago, I placed a couple of sweet potatoes in with flowers.  Here is what was waiting for me in the soil.  Yep sweet potatoes and fresh.

In other new I got a new die for my AccuQuilt and have been cutting fabric like crazy and sewing it together.  See that big pile on the ironing board?  Should be enough for at least one quilt.

The applique hearts for the last week.

Need to sew so see you later.

Life Update

Posting has been sporadic in the last few months due to Mr Frog Quilters many doctor and diagnostic tests.  Long story short, he has cancer and started chemo yesterday.  Chemo is three days in a row with the first day being the longest.  We are on a three week schedule in addition to more doctor visits and testing when needed.  This is our new journey and together we are taking our challenges day by day.

In addition to this I am still working full time but work has been wonderful about allowing me to work off site, either at the chemo center or at home when needed.

I am still getting my daily sewing fix which I need now more than ever.  I'll try to post some quilty content this week.

So that is the happenings here.  Pray for us.

Here are my hearts for the week.

This top was quilted Friday and Saturday.   These blocks are the last of the kite one that I made too many of.

Foothills Piecemakers Quilt Guild

Thursday I travelled to Greenville SC to display a trunk show of my quilts. This quild is a large one and very organized. They are a fun group. I was treated to a new member dinner social and the food was fabulous. The next day I taught a class on Petal to the Metal showing a select group of ladies how to construct petals made out of fabric strings. They all did well. A few have found this method to be addicting.

Blogger has been a real bugger getting this posted.  I had to resort to the 'old' lap top with windows.

Today is a free day from work due to the storm and I am taking full advantage of the time.  Where?  Of course in my sewing room.  Zoom Zoom!

Lots of sewing

There has been lots of sewing here. More than normal.
These are the last of the kite blocks that I am using up. Love the layout.

I have started making the sugar bowl blocks that Bonnie Hunter recently provided a tutorial.  Very cute.
I am still trying to reduce the 2 1/2 inch strip bin. These are new blocks that are fun and easy. I hate to admit it but the level of strips never seams to go down.
Scrappy trips with additional sashing. I added the outside border. The blocks also use 2 1/2 inch strips.
It is ready for quilting along with a bazillion other tops.
