Last QOV of 2018

I quilted and finished the last QOV for 2018 last Thursday.  Since I got my new machine I am amazed at how I have been stretching my quilting.  I'm doing more detailed quilting ala custom and love it.

This is my sons latest adoptee. She is just the sweetest cat and loves to be held.
Today will be a relaxing day and I think I will be sewing quilting to my hearts content. Sending everyone a heart felt hugs for Christmas. I appreciate each one of you.🐸

Amazing

I thought you would love to see the most recent quilt that I finished for M. The quilting took a few days but oh so worth it.

I have a QOV that is getting specialized quilting that will be finished today.

Enjoy🐸

Long Over Due

I have been handling life one day at a time and so far so good. I have been quilting as it is my sanity in this crazy world.

I was lucky to order Bonnie Hunters newest book in the first wave.

I am doing the new mystery quilt by Bonnie called Good Fortune and keeping up with the steps.  So far I am using red and neutrals, black instead of blue.  I haven't picked out the other colors.  I am using green for this weeks clue making chevrons.  This is not my favorite block to make but I will get it done.

Last night I loaded a top to quilt. It's so fun to play with my new machine. This top you see is for heart builders. I was very pleased with the quilting.
I have customer quilts to do this weekend so that will be my priority. Maybe in the middle of quilting those I will start on good fortune step three. Bring out those pretty greens.

Long Overdue Update

I should have posted pictures of Genes quilted top last week but ....  No excuses.  I loved playing with   Genes top and had the best time.

This quilt is going to quilty hugs.

This one will go on the stack for a baby quilt when needed.

Another quilty hug.

Now I need to fire up the embroidery machine and stitch out some labels and sew them on.

Getting to know you...

First I want to thank each one of you that left a comment on the last few posts.  I appreciate all the support you have given.  It has been a tough road the last 18 months.  I take it one day at a time.

Quilting has been my life saver.  I can truly turn grief into happiness for a needy person.  So I continue making quilty hugs for chemo patients.

I had ordered a Forte 24 from Handi Quilter and it sat in my garage a few weeks before I could arrange a day that the quilt shop and I could get it built and configured.  I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It has really nice features like a lit bobbin area, low bobbin alarm and tie offs.

Today I pulled out a top donated by Gene .  I found the perfect backing from my stash and spent the day playing.  I'm happy to say that I finished it and am pleased with the outcome.  I will post the finished quilt tomorrow.

Feeding the machine...

Life has been extra trying lately.  I been sewing as a way of relieving stress.

In a manner of using up a drawer full of 1.5 inch strips I have been making log cabin blocks.  Any and all fabric types work.  I have completed close to 100 8.5 inch blocks.

Our fur baby Mr Tale took sick and was taken to the Vet. Diagnosed with kidney failure, he died last night. The doctors did everything to try to reverse the kidney failure. So sad, he was only five years old. He had a wonderful personality and loved to show off on the kitty condo. He was commonly seen grooming / loving one of his two litter mate sisters.

Blocks make tops

I have had this pile of neutral string blocks and it was time to use them.  I love how this came out.  This will be quilted for a quilty hug.

BTW I order my new quilting machine Saturday.  HQ Fusion 24 with a ten foot table.   Yippee!

Plugging along

Did you miss me? Our friends have been here from Scotland we are having a lovely time. They leave tomorrow.

I have managed a few things.

A quilty hugs quilt which is a collaboration of bigger blocks for the spare parts bag.

The back with a Halloween theme.

I committed to two QOV quilts for a November award.  There is a large group of military members receiving them.

The back.

A Quilty hug top that started with a stack of blue squares.

I am binding this in hopes that a friend will want to purchase it.
