Play Time

At the machine... Trying to get used to using rulers. I used the small boomarang from DeLoas. They can be found at deloasquiltshop.com

I love the texture on the back, and yes there are lots of mistakes. It was fun to just let go. A child will love this quilt.

As for my absence from blogging I have been working a full size T Shirt quilt. A commission from Indiana. In the process of hand stitching the binding down.

As for today, I have bread rising and must go grocery shopping.

Remember those strips?

Well I sewed ALL of them into scrappy trips blocks that are 6 X 6 from 2.5 strips. I also managed to sew the pile of 2 inch strips into tubes. They are ready for their sub cutting and block assembly.

I ended up with 40 blocks. Lots of quilt top possibilities.

And a very sweet picture of Sebastian. He is a very large kitty.

Strips for trip

I've been cutting all my 2 .5 strips that are not width of fabric. I will take these to St Louis MO in May when I travel for work. I can get a lot of piecing done in my room in the evenings. It take 6 strips to make a block and they go pretty fast.

These four blocks are done from two inch blocks. I really like them. I'll be doing more of these in the future.

Here are two blocks from the 2.5 inch blocks.

This is what I plan to quilt today. Another QSC For Kids quilt.

More Parts, More Tops

The pile of blocks is dwindling. The first one will go to QSC for kids. This one was fun to create. Anything goes with these tops.

This next one is an adult lap top. Made of blocks and parts from the orphan/block bin. It took about a week to complete as I was unsure of how each section would be connected.

I'm also cutting down scraps (thanks to everyone who gave me their scraps) so the boxes and bags are under control. Too much clutter gets in the way of my creativity.

Blocks and Parts = Quilts

My orphan block, parts bin has been "busting" so much that lid will not close. That means it's time to make quilts. Here two more I've put together.

These may end up going to Quilts for Kids SC. A nice cheery bunch of colors with lots to see.

I still have a load of parts to use...

The IPad takes beautiful pictures.
