First up are my little blocks that came out last Friday.

I have been chipping away at the Chilhowie Mystery Quilt from Bonnie Hunter.  Here are a couple in progress pictures.  I substituted pink for orange this time.  There are four rows and a border or two.

And I have to put in my cross stitch piece (well one anyway).  I have the arch and little houses still to do.  I have loved stitching this piece. I am stitching it on a 36 count Fiber on a Whim Cream and Sugar.

Keep stitching everyone 🐸!

I’m on a Roll

I finished my black bird early one morning. I only had a little more of black to stitch. Stitched on 38 count legacy linen.  I used Sulky threads.

I have some other small finishes but haven’t photographed them, next time.

I have been on a mission to clean out my exploding 1.5 inch strip drawer. I am making log cabin blocks and pineapple blocks.

The tutorial came from a you tube video by Brenda of Conquering Mount Scrapmore. She gives excellent instructions on making these blocks with NO special ruler.

I joined Sentimental stitches for there Little 4.5 blocks every week. Gives me a chance to slow down.  These are paper pieced and do require my attention. I am enjoying making these.  You get two or three patterns every Friday.

My needle is itching to stitch and I’ll be working on one of my WIPS (works in progress).

Have a good week and get some sewing or stitching done.

New beginnings

This was the message at the meditation session I went to today. So let’s turnover a new leaf. Here are the last quilts that were completed.

This is a small childs quilt that I created with no pattern.  The quilting is made up, just playing with my machines many features.

A string quilt that I had fun putting together.

This next quilt is from the book half yard quilts from It’s Sew Emma (Fat Quarter Shop).  I made it fat quarter friendly. The pattern is called The Rose.

Another pattern from the above mentioned book. The backing is fabulous!

I will be including my cross stitch projects here on the blog. It is another form of needlework that is very soothing!

I’m well on my way to a Red Cross stitch wall.

I have many more projects in progress.

Happy New Year!  🐸

Long overdue post

Time seems to elude me since March…. I spend a bit of time not sewing but I am back now.

Here are some kid quilts that are ready for donation:

These next quilts are the completed Quilty Hugs that are almost ready for giving.

All they need to to stitch down the label and a good wash.

I have a pile of donated tops which makes me so happy.  People just want to sew and give these tops a good home!

Like so many quilters I have returned to cross stitch.  Here is a couple that I got back from framing. I love how they turned out!  Blogger decided to rotate my pictures ugh.

Life Update…my bladder cancer has returned to haunt me.  Waiting on a surgery date. It will be a simple out patient surgery with little to no down time.

Happy stitching everyone!

Long Time Gone

I did not mean to be away so long.  Life has a way of doing that…

February took me on a trip to Panama which was fabulous. One of the highlights was seeing the Panama Canal in operation. We stayed in a eco lodge where everything was taken care of. So cool.

Three weeks later and I was traveling to St John in the Virgin Islands. It was a action packed trip. Every day we hiked and snorkeled in the most beautiful aqua waters. We saw many beautiful sea creatures. I felt my age on this trip and didn’t like that.

I think I have recovered for the most part and now need to get my studio in order. I started today by putting stuff where it belongs. I have things to do and a few quilting jobs to accomplish.

Here are the quilts that have been completed in the last quarter. The Quilty hugs quilts will be delivered tomorrow as I will be in the area getting my car serviced.

This is a baby quilt for a co worker who I loved.  She got married and had a little girl.  I designed this little quilt and love it.

This next one was donated by C. Thanks.

The next three
were pieced and donated by Lisa T. Thanks Lisa.

This next one is for me and my queen size bed. It was a leader ender challenge from Bonnie Hunter a few years back. I made so many blocks that I will have to make another quilt to use them up.

Sorry I have been away so long. The cross stitch bug has bitten me and one of my posts will highlight some finishes.

Hope everyone is well!  🐸

Love Quilts Abound

I have been chipping away at the pile of love tops waiting on me.  One by one I am slowly getting them done. My friend S came and picked up ten to bind. Yay!!!

That’s all for now.  I’m headed downstairs to load a quilt.  🐸
