Almost Finished

Did you all miss me?  I spent a fabulous weekend with Denise in her mountain home.  The temperatures never got above 80 degrees.  House was open night and day.  All that fresh air did a lot to rejuvenate me.

We both exhibited quilts in the Cruso Quilt Show.  Went to a quilt guild social gathering and met a group of talented quilters.  Then we kept running into them in town lol.

Waynesville is a small iconic town with lots of unique shops and plenty of artisan talents.  Lots of eye candy!

As for me I only took this quilt to stitch down the binding.  I have a little more to do so I'll be slow stitching on it.

Have a good and restful Sunday everyone.

Weekend Recap

Saturday I quilted a love quilt (charity).  I tried a new pattern that was really easy and looks good.  It's like a basket weave.

And the back.

My double four patch finally made it to my bed after a day delay; cats sleeping in it.  Looks so nice and it sleeps me good.  Here is what I took off the bed, all washed up.  It will join the scrap quilts trunks show.

And the back.

And those are sheep lol.
I have big leaf plants and I spied a frog on the main stem.

A Fabulous Finish

I finished the binding this morning.  I have been working a little each evening?  There are still a couple threads to be buried and attach a label.

I'm really happy with it.  It will go on my bed tonight for a test run.

Love Quilt

I started this quilt Saturday afternoon and finished it up this morning.

I feathered it.

Close ups for the feather lovers.

Texture magic.

On the double four patch I stitched down one side last night and am working on the second side tonight.  Every little bit helps.

Double Four Patch Quilted

Dee and I spent the day quilting, well me quilting on her machine and she did miscellanous tasks.  We had a great time today.  From 10am to 6:30pm I pounded out the feathering in this massive quilt.  I probably won't be able to move tomorrow but that is ok.

Now I need to make ten miles of binding.  The same black fabric used in the inner boarder.

So happy this is done.  Thanks Dee!!!😀

Slow Sunday

This morning I sewed a large, really large backing for my double four patch top.  After struggling to get this finished I proceeded to load on my long arm.  Low and behold it's too big!!!  I'll have to beg on of my friends to use their long arm.  They have larger tables.

I slow stitched a few applique blocks and then later sewed some neutral strings.  Nine and it didn't tame the small bag I was trying to use up.

Here are the Dear Jane blocks.

And the nine string blocks.
