Inspiration and my helpers

Inspiration comes in many forms. There are very few patterns I will make as they become boring but every once in awhile.....

Quilts and More magazine (Summer 2011) had a cover quilt that I just had to make. I used my 2 inch scrap bin but it's still full. How can that be?

My assistants this afternoon. Good thing I didn't have to cut any fabric.

Star Crazy

My lovely kitty Tinker Belle making sure the quilt blocks are ok. She will re-arrange them if she is in the mood.

The stack of quilt tops are growing. I just can 't stop creating.

Soon I'll need to quilt some up.

Cheers

Some pretty flowers from my garden to help cheer me up. I had sinus surgery on Tuesday and I'm better today. Hopefully everyday will get a little better.

The white flower was a secret sister gift I planted last year.

The yellow day lily was one that used to be a potted plant.

Quilty stuff to follow this weekend "I hope".

P.S. While I am recovering, the bathroom is being "totally" remodeled.

Another Love Quilt Top

Lately I've been "trying" to bust the scraps laying around. The more I do the more I have. I did get rid of the pile of center starters and came up with this top. The yellow looks better in person. I know someone will love this quilt when finished.

I'll be posting two finished Roseville Album big blocks this weekend. I just need to wash and iron them.

Rejected but still loved

This is a collection of scrap blocks from others, making too many and rejected blocks due to various reasons. Making strip sets and separating by either a 3 or 2.5 inch strip I've created a unique quilt top. Someone will love it.

Have accomplished quite alot this weekend. Still more to go.

BTW Mr FQ noticed the star blocks that are messed up. LOL

Love Tops and Olivia's Quilt

I love to experiment with shapes and colors. Here are a couple experiments that I think will make a child very happy.

Lastly a baby quilt for Olivia who was born premature and is probably home now from the hospital. The colors are brighter pink than in the picture.

MAM's Become a Flimsy

The MAM's (Mile a Minute) blocks were begging to be put into a flimsy. I listened and put together a 6 X 8 setting. (The picture is a 8 X 6 setting) The blocks were trimmed to 8 inches square. I sewed them together in no set order just trying to have different type of fabrics next to each other. First I made twosi's, then foursi's adding two more while still in the machine. I have enough blocks remaining for another top this size.

I find the "no rules" very refreshing not to mention being able to sew mindless and have a beautiful top.

There are some other items I have been working on which I can not show. It would spoil the surprise.

Our Artful Bra's are now on ebay. The link is HERE. When you get to the ebay site type in Artful Bra. There are 50 bras up for bid (10 day time frame) I have two: Lily Padded and 'Love and Peace'. The web site is also accessable from the Quilters of SC web site listed below.
Also if you'd like to purchase a Bra Book they can be found at http://www.quiltersofsc.org/

Proceeds from the sale of the Bras and the books will benefit "the best chance network" which pays for mammograms and PAP smears for uninsured and under insured women. Together we can stop the spread of cancer.
