Time has slipped away

From me. I truly did not mean to go this long without a post.

The quilt drive for the Haywood flood victims was a great success with over 124 quilts completed. I did get a little burned out but have been back in the studio finishing chemo quilts.

This was a top donated from Nancy F.  It was supposed to have appliquéd flowers but I just did fancy quilting.  I really played with pro-stitcher and had fun!

Nancy also donated this stripy top which I added a small border to make it a little larger.  I like these quilts to be snuggled when getting treatment.

The next two are from Lisa T.

I have been stitching the many inches of binding on these quilts.

A nice picture of the kitties sleeping the afternoon away.

And a cross stitch piece I finished myself. It is hanging on the fridge by way of a magnet.  I am stitching my evenings doing cross stitch as it is very peaceful.

Back soon with more updates. 🐸

Love quilts quilting continues

The quilting continues on most days. I usually quilt up two or three tops.  They are smallish so it doesn’t take forever to get them done.  They are quilted with a medium meander stitch.

I turned in a bunch Tuesday and received the last 20 tops.  Exhale a big sigh of relief!

The pictures do not show another eight completed that I had in my car.

Our goal was to make 100 quilts and I think we will make that goal.🐸😀

Sorry about the picture orientation, blogger did that!

Wow Time Is Flying By

And how has it been a month since I posted.  No clue.

I have been sewing like crazy. A few of us are making quilts 40 X 60 inches for the flood victims of Haywood County NC. They were flooded out from hurricane Fred. Our plan to provide enough to give out at Christmas time.  A lot of fabric has been used of which I am so glad. I need to see more progress so I will keep going.

I recently went on a quilt retreat in Jonesborough TN which was fabulous. It was a Sunday through Thursday morning long and boy did we eat. So much food, all good.  And the sewing ….  I did get my leaders and Enders top together. I will insert a better picture next time.  This is in progress.

The black and white corner stone patches were a happy accident as I forgot my jar of of 1.5 inch squares. Looking through the fabric I had brought I chose this one and it was perfect.

Some pictures of projects happening around the room:

It was a fun retreat and I signed up for next year.  🐸

More Updates

More quilting has been happening here of late.

Two kids quilts were completed and turned in.

Two QOV tops quilted.

I dropped off five quilts for my Quilty Hugs mission.  That felt wonderful.

I met a women who teaches quilting to adults and kids and was accepting fabric.  I came home and boxed up two boxes of various precuts (my cuts), scraps and assorted things.  My studio now looks amazing without all that stuff laying about.

A Top for the Spare Bedroom

I have had these blocks made for well over a year and decided it was time for me to turn them into a top.  Well I did and still have a small stack left.

Maybe I should get this loaded on the long arm and get the quilting started…

More lovelies!

Time seems to be just flying by this year. I am going with the flow.  Here are some of my creations of late:

This one was a piece that used all my large and small triangles in conjunction with a 3.5 inch square.  I love it and it has already been turned in with about eight others quilts for kids

Next is a top from Kitty of ALeftHandedQuilter.  This one is so pretty.  I used the orange peel quilting pattern.

CN from my guild made a top for Quilty Hugs.  It quilted up beautifully using the Baptist fan pattern.

This next one is a top also donated by Nancy F.  She did not know where it came from but I know where it’s going. To Quilty Hugs.

This next one was just the inner piece in which I added two borders to make it sing.  It will go to comfort a child.  Donated by Nancy F who loved the result.

Some pretty flowers around my property.

Come back for more pretties.  I have some QOV’s to quilt up so those will be next on the agenda.  🐸

The next batch of Quilty hugs

Are well into the finishing stage.

This was last years Moda’s breast cancer quilt.  Love it!

A couple of blocks in this next quilt are from Kitty from Alefthandedquilter.

And in the last post, the second set of photos at least two of those tops came from Kitty.  Thanks Kitty.

I pulled this top off my top rack and quilted it after adding a fun Christmas cow border.

Nancy F donated this fun quilt top complete with a backing and binding made.  I just couldn’t resist quilting it.  Simple and so pretty!

I did quilt a couple love (kid) quilts but I’ll save them for the next post. Slowly I seem to be getting back into the groove.  I am learning to like days where I do nothing.  For years (lots of years), that would not have been tolerated. I am so hard on myself at times.  🐸
