First border of Hearts

I finished enough hearts for the first border. Got it sewn on, pressed. Love it. Hearts are getting appliquéd most every evening. I hope to have this border done by the new year.

Each corner will be a black square with small red hearts (fabric).

This was this morning, Sebastian in the fore ground and Tinker Belle down towards my feet. It seems like Tinker Belle is slowly coming out of her shell.

Easy Street Part 2 DONE!

I finished these flying geese units, all 134 of them last night watching Nebraska get whooped :-(

This morning I re-inserted my red snappers back into my quilt leaders. Oh how I have missed you.

Excuse the messy look. I usually have multiple projects going and somehow my room gets messy. How did that happen?

Tinker Belle looking all cute and stretched out.

Aqua strings

I am amazed at the amount of aqua fabrics strings that I have. I probably have as many more as these.

A kitty picture for the cat lovers.

I hope everyone has a quilty weekend.

Finally ....

I've been working on this quilt top for months. I was never satisfied with how the snow ball blocks matched up with the star blocks. I have resewn them at least three times. It's done now and am really pleased. I auditioned several border fabrics and settled on the black and white print. I got this quilt idea from a pamplet cover; no pattern.

For the quilt kitty lovers a picture of Tinker Belle inspecting a baby quilt that has gone to its owner.

Nine of Twelve Finished

I am loving this quilt. It makes me happy to work on it. If all goes well maybe I can do three more blocks today. Then I will need to create all the in betweens and the border treatment.

Tinker Belle is contemplating how she will scrunch up the blocks LOL.

Change of plans

When I found out how big the older brother was... So I went digging in the top bin. This top now quilted is appropriate for a nine year old. Brennan is going to love it. I quilted it with a large stipple as he likes soft things to cuddle up with.

As I was stitching the binding, Tinker Belle had to inspect. I do believe she approves.

Quilty Archives

I've had a very busy weekend. Lots of sewing but not much to show. Lots of binding, embroiderying quilt labels, you get the idea.

Upon trying to download my pictures from todays efforts I had camera problems. Every picture did not want to download. So batteries are charging.

Looking back through my picture archives I've selected a few for quilty content and one for the cat lovers out there.

The red and white patchwork quilt is one that currently is on my dining room table. It is bound but doesn't have a label yet. I need a name: X Marks the spot.

Tinker Belle looking fabulous.

A love quilt I turned in last month to guild.

Fantastic Fans

Tinker Belle all grown up and sitting right behind me. I am the softeee when it comes to getting a taste of my dinner. :-))))

I was able to attend a lecture / workshop by Charlotte Angotti. She definitely has a sense of humor. Here she is on the left showing one of her fan quilts. A great way to use those big oriental prints.

Here are my fans that were started in the workshop. These blocks finish at 12 inches. I'm thinking about bordering this quilt in smaller fans with a block size of 6 inches. I think it would be fabulous.

It's been a wonderful weekend. Tonight I will tackle another side on the monster quilt.

Star Crazy

My lovely kitty Tinker Belle making sure the quilt blocks are ok. She will re-arrange them if she is in the mood.

The stack of quilt tops are growing. I just can 't stop creating.

Soon I'll need to quilt some up.

New Shoes

Many ofus wear clarks shoes for comfort and durability. In the last year I have had 2 or 3 pairs of shoes where the upper (leather) part starts to separate from the sole. The last pair this happened on was a beautiful burgundy color mule. One of my favorites, wearing them with jeans was perfect.

I decided these shoes are very expensive and I'm going to do something about it (or just try). I searched the web for the clarks web site and contacted them. I promply received a reply asking for the number on the inside of the upper shoe. I sent the information back and was pleasantly surprised when the email came asking me to select a new pair from one of 3 web sites they provided. I received my new shoes in about 2 weeks. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE.

The shipping box is a perfect place for Tinker Belle to stalk her victims. She is turning into a very loving kitty.

Don's Quilt, Tinker Belle

This is the quilt I started last night and finished today at noon. Pieced by Linda McNabb. It's for her husband Don who is a sweetheart. I used a oak panto and I think it came out fabulous. Ignore all the white basting stitches.

One the right is Tinker Belle keeping my seat on the couch warm. She' really matured into a loving kitty.

It feels so good to be home and able to sew. My Bernina 200 is home from the sewing machine hospital and will get thorough testing this weekend. Maybe I'll get it to embroider - finally....

Headed for Houston, Star Crazy and Tinker Belle

Am leaving in the morning for houston for the big show. My first time!

I'll leave you with my new bed quilt which sleeps fabulous and a picture of Tinker Belle. She made it through her surgery just fine but decided to eat rope and a dryer sheet. These two items made her pretty sick for a few days. She is better now and back to herself. And loving on me regularly.... Such a sweety!

Look for a post next week.

The Quilted Wedding Quilt, Scrap Christmas Top and Tinker Belle

and of course blogger chooses the order....

A scrappy christmas quilt for a child. No pattern, just a sew as you go quilt. Based on what's on hand at the time.
Tinker Belle just snoozing in a laundry basket of clean whites. Oh to sleep the day away without a care in the world. She is getting so big and becoming more affectionate.
The quilted wedding quilt which came out beautiful....

Another post will follow today.........

Tinker Belle, Beading and Stars

Tinker Belle laying in the bathroom sink. She is really getting big. She is trying and succeeding to be the new alpha cat. :-)

The beading picture is a start of a beaded button. What fun and very addicting. I'll post a picture of the finished button.

and from the sewing room my stars quilt is "finally quilted" after having gone thru technical challenges. I'm happy to say that I am pleased with the results. It was quilted with a digitized panto called Brandywine. With this quilt I did learn how to clip the pattern. And how to travel the pattern on the screen and then use the "G" key to goto. Cool! This is "my" new bed quilt so I am looking forward to having it completed and on the bed.

The other picture is a Love Quilt that came out of the UFO bin. It's plain at the moment but I'll do some fancy quilting and it'll be beautiful.

Yes the UFO bin is jam packed again. So I've been trying to work on reducing the amount of UFO's. They must reproduce while I am sleeping, and I'm in the same room. Well, when I sleep a bomb could go off and I wouldn't hear it. LOL. But if Mr. F.Q. or the cats are up I hear them....??? Strange but true.

More sewing tomorrow. Yay!

Good to be home, good to be sewing

I have really enjoyed being home and back in my sewing room creating; playing with fabric. Since blogger rearranged my pictures ........ here are two of Tinker Belle ... she is growing SO FAST.

I bought a accuquilt and have been cutting lots of fabric. Here is the big thimble top. Like the other cats Tinker Belle has to explore and be in the picture.

I really liked how the drunkards path top turned out. Randum scrappiness (is that a word?). I think I will be making more of these. The blocks are supposed to finish at 7 inches but I squared them up at 6.5. I have a recipient in mind for this top...

Lots of sewing this weekend.

Seeing Stars, Helen's Quit

As usual blogger does exactly what it wants to. These are star blocks that I made about a year ago. My bed told me that a new quilt was needed. I have picked out the border fabrics. When I get back from Scotland I will cut and sew them on.

I didn't take Tinker Bell long to figure out that luxury was laying on nice fabrics and quits. What a ham!!! She is growing leaps and bounds.

I showed this quilt in a previous posting; Helen was quite surprised when I presented it to her. She thought I was just showing her a quilt I made LOL.
She is such a sweet lady!

Love you Mam.
