A QOV I quilted yesterday. Light blue perma core thread on top, so fine on the back. 80 / 20 batting.

The back. Lots of texture. Pathway to the stars panto.

A close up.

My Ireland frog sitting on a piece of Connemara marble.

A very pretty statue sent by a good friend in the UK. The statue stands about 5 inches tall.

Lucy looking lovely.

Mr Tale posing very pretty. He needs a good home.

Maestro on the left also needs a home. All are very lovable.

TGIF and QOV Day

Another hard week finished. I am still without a washing machine and I hope I don't have to visit the laundromat again. :-( you never really know just how much you miss something until its gone or broke.

I received my blog round robin wall quilt and I love it!!! I started with 4 spool blocks. Was passed twice for borders and then one to the finisher. LOVELY!

To see the entire group visit here Round robin

Last weekend I put these blocks together. It will be quilted this weekend.

Today is QOV sew day so there will a post on that event.

It's All About Purple

My purple string blocks are part of hearts.

To finish this I am thinking about piano keys in different shades of purple and white say 6 to 6.5 inches wide. I've already raided the 2 inch strip bin, next was the 2.5 inch strip bin. I'll be sewing them today

Meet Lucy my new kitty

Her sister and brother need to find homes. The brother is the only one with a tail. This is Maestro.

This is Mr Tale

If you are interested in either or both please email me.

Have a great weekend. Sew and exercise your machine.

After a difficult week at work, last night I needed a machine fix. It had been almost 3 weeks since I used a sewing machine. I put a Quilts of Valor on the frame and enjoyed every stitch.

The back

And a rose colored sky that was interesting

Now for more machine therapy.

International Quilt Show Ireland 2013

This quilt show was awesome. Each category was in a different room with specific decorating, applicable to the subject. ie, under the sea had shells and rocks, a big red, seahorse. Each venue had different sounds as well. Enjoy!

The tag on this reads April 1885 Soldiers Home Carnival.

They even had quilts hung in a church. It was a religious theme.

Taken at the Gala Evening where we had a champaign reception, dinner and the a show "A Trad on The Prom". Excellent!!!!!!!

Ireland Tour Day 1

Connemara marble - the only place in the world to get green marble. Here is a pile of raw uncut marble.

It is cut and polished to produce fine jewelry pieces. I bought quite a few in sterling silver and a worry stone.

Next stop was the Connemara Celtic Crystal Shop. Here they blow glass and then cut it to make crystal. We had a demonstration of a bowl being created. See Bonnie Hunter in the pink top with a black sweater?

Dinner with Bonnie Hunter and Eleanor Burns. Lovely ladies and fun too.

A great day full of fun!
