Quilting Continues

Ah the quilting continues and I am enjoying it.  This next quilt was a appliqué top and was surprised to find it as a love quilt.  I had so much fun with this one.

Some of you might remember that I am making the quilt Afternoon Delight by Sue Garmen.  The first two blocks were testers and I learned trimming techniques needed in order for the sub blocks to work correctly. The four patches needed to be trimmed to two inches in order for everything to fit proper.  These will be banned to orphan pile.

These eight blocks are the ones for the quilt.  I think they are beautiful.

On to the mini nine patch blocks...  sew much fun!!!

Quilting Away

I have been quilting away.  I usually quilt one or two tops per day depending on what others I am working on.

This next one was a bunch of blocks that I sewed together.

I started on my Afternoon Delight by Sue Garmen. I have all eight churn dash parts ready to assemble. I will show those in the next post.

Stay safe and be sure to wear your mask when out!

Quilting in the studio

This is my Antebellum Quilt sew along with Pam Buda.

I received a pile of kids quilt tops and have been busy knocking them out.

With the next one I experimented with some free motion quilting on the fly!

Look at all the lovely texture.

My GD took these two pictures of Lucy while she visited me.  She is very talented taking pictures!

Quilting

I have quilted up a few quilts in the last week.  I received a whole pile of charity (love) quilts so I started on them.

Postage Stamp Mini

I made another mini, a postage stamp quilt.  I kept the quilting simple using my Bernina Sewing machine.

And here are some blooming flowers from my various gardens at home.

A Near Finish

Yesterday I went downstairs to the studio not knowing what I was going to work on. I quickly looked at all my choices and picked up one of my mini tops that was ready for quilting. I did all the stitching on my Bernina. I really got into the slow rhythmic sound of the stitching.  Before I knew it I had finished.  I cut and sewed on the binding.
