The latest flower from the fish pond.

In The Studio
The other day I wanted to sew and use up some of the MANY block parts. I decided on a pattern from Bonnie Hunters new book called sand castles. I had 3.5 inch four patch blocks available. See them in the bin, so many. And I had enough neutral strings for this quilt. But my four patch units were 3.5 inches. So I sized all the units up and got started. It didn’t take long before I had many blocks completed. There are 3 - 4 on the cutting board waiting to be squared up to 14.5 inches. It won’t be long before I have a quilt top and I will have to pick another design that uses my pieces parts.

What a clever design. I don't know how Bonnie keeps coming up with them.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely flower in the fish pond!
I'm glad you found a pattern to use up your block parts - and I like your flower in the fish pond - ;))
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have a beautiful quilt. I love scrappy quilts the best! That sure sounds like a lot of work but you seem to have a good plan.
ReplyDeleteDoes that flower open in the morning and close in the evening? My son has a couple of flowers in his fish pond that do that. Maybe they all do that and I just don't know.
That is going to be a fun quilt. I love it when I can use up bits and make something pretty.
