Baby/Love quilts

Saturday I had the urge to sew red and pink string blocks. In half a day I managed
to complete 16 unfinished which are 9.5 inches square.  Yesterday I sashed them with different light strips and began making piano key borders in reds and white strings.
I also quilted a top from the ever growing love top pile.

This was an effort to play with X Blocks.  Surely some child will love it?  I used all batting scraps.  Still have many more to use.

Yoday... More string blocks and maybe another top will get loaded. Frog Quilter

A Finish

I am trying out some new software for photo editing.  Trying to reduce the picture size.  Has anyone else experienced the size option in email to have disappeared!

Ok testing

A nice resort

We spent a few days at the North Plantation Beach resort.  We originally booked a two bedroom unit but we were upgraded to a three bedroom unit free.  We were on the seventh floor.  The resort was fabulous despite the cloudy and cool days.  We did have one sunny day around the pool.  Here are the pictures that were taken from our balcony patio.

The Big Reveal

After teasing you for months, here is the full quilt.  It is between a queen and king size quilt.  They love it!

Made with a variety of reds, pinks and one cream fabric.  Hand guided Quilting.

And for fun I recently made a mini pin wheel quilt.  This is my first attempt at hand quilting.  It won't be my last one.  The blocks finish at 2 inches.

Neutral Strings

I have been sewing up my neutral strings as they were busting out of the bag.  I was sick of looking at them.  Messy!  So I took charge and sewed them up.  The bag is 80% reduced.  There is another bag but I'm not going to tackle it yet.

Here they are, all trimmed and pretty.  That is a lot of fabric that will be used.  The count is 40 8.5 inch blocks.  Yay.

For the big surprise, I am hand quilting my mini pin wheel quilt.  My first and not too bad.  It is not yet finished.  The pin wheel blocks need quilting.

My lines aren't exactly straight but that's ok.  The process is soothing.
