Weekend Progress

Here is my progress from this weekend.  The quilt top is a orphan top with the addition of black strips.  Like most of my quilt tops it took a different direction than what I had envisioned.

The rag rug I have been working on for a couple of weeks.  It goes fast and uses a ton of strings.  I am already thinking about the next one...  Enjoy!

Broken Dishes, the 4.5 size

My broken dishes top is together and ironed. I have three extra blocks that will go on the back. Now I don't have the pile of blocks harassing me lol.

Myrtle Beach Quilt Party Finale

Today was a great day! All the pieces parts came together in a glorious pattern of color. The ladies did excellent and everyone put their individual spin on the pattern. I was happy with the out come! Enjoy!

Myrtle Beach Quilt Party

Scraps are flying and machines are humming here at the convention center in Sunset Beach NC.  We are located right on a golf course and everything is beautiful.

Our room (the biggest) has large windows on two sides and is great for natural light.  The ladies are doing such a great job creating their blocks.  Some have been cut different and then re attached.  Where there's a will there will be a way.  I consider today a success!  Well done ladies.  Thank you for making me feel right at home amongst you.

I brought my 4.5 inch broken dishes blocks to assemble. Almost done! these will join the other blocks at home for final assembly.

En Provence Progress and others

I have made a great deal of progress on En Provence this weekend.  Working on the borders now so the end is in sight.  Yay!

Also my weekly projects 150 Canadian Women and Pat Sloan's BOM.

Enjoy.  Will soon need a new scrappy project to sew...

BOM's Progress

Here are my BOM's for the week.

Pat Sloan's Night and Day - I'm doing mine in all blue and white.

150 Canadian Women - I'm doing mine in Reds and white / cream colors. These finish at six inches.

This next block is from Pat Soan's Children's Nursery rhyme BOM.  I'm challenging myself to use whatever is lying around on the long arm table.  I know the four corner blocks are not oriented correctly.  Guess what - I'm leaving them as is.

En Provence Progress

I started this morning by cleaning my sewing area.  It had gotten out of hand and very messy.  How does that happen?

I have been making good progress on my En Provence today.  I had to modify how I am constructing the big blocks as I kept getting lost in putting them together.  Now I construct the centers and the side borders separately.  It makes for a much smoother assembly.

I will be working on this top tomorrow.

16 Patch Blocks Done

All around blog land I have been seeing 16 patch blocks so I thought I could create and sew them "my way".  And sew I did.

I think this will be the final lay out.  Each 16 patch has cute surprises.  One has a cat, another a frog another has horse legs etc.  These make me smile!

One Great Finish

I taught my stain glass pattern at QSC Retreat in 2016 and one of my students sent me a picture of her completed flimsy.

Veronica writes "Finally finished my stained glass quilt top last week. Since the arithmetic doesn't work for the outer border of "leftovers" I decided to put white rectangles in the center of each border as an accent and that seemed to work out OK. It is all batiks except the white of course. I am so glad I had the opportunity to take your class and do something with those scraps!"

I love how Veronica handled the last border.  Beautiful!

Sewing Sunday

I have been very busy today.  I took care of two bags of gifted scraps, sorting, ironing and stripping them down.  Thanks to all who gifted their scraps.  They will be put to good use here.

Maestro decided to nap on my Pedal to the Medal quilt top for half a day.  How do you accomplish anything when there is a body in the way.  Well. You wait for the nap to be over and / or you get out the vacuum hehe!

I put a skinny border on and now will wait to see what this top tells me for additional borders.  Any recommendations?

Turn out the lights Mom please!

I have been seeing these blocks in blog land and needed a leader ender so here are mine. I think I'll do nine and then evaluate.

I also have two big pans of lasagna cooking and the smell is wonderful.
