Catching Up
I cleaned out my closet floor yesterday and moved several big bags of fabric strings to the garage. I can now walk in the closet.
Here is my update from the last week.

More Blocks
I forgot to mention yesterday that I'm doing a sew along with Pat Sloan. It is called Grandmas Kitchen. I've done three blocks so far. I'm using 30's fabrics. Each block so far is a different color. I will do this as long as I can, there are only 12 blocks. I will probably donate this quilt. It's not really my style (read not wild enough lol).
I had some kite blocks left over and wondered what they would look like of they were assembled differently. I happen to like it so I will cut fabrics to send thru the GO cutter at some time.
I'm still plugging along on my tumelo trail blocks. They have been my leader enders between other things.

Weekly Update
I have gone back to working on my Canadian quilt in red and neutral fabrics. These two blocks were very tedious but look great finished.
only one heart block was stitched this week.
I quilted this top as it is a great example of how, many colors work together. I want to add it to my trunk show.
The back fabric has been in my stash forever. It wasn't wide enough so I stubbed in frogs and mushrooms in black and white. The quilt is much brighter than the pictures show!

From Sunday Quilting
I quilted this top Sunday and stitched the binding on today after work. It will be next after I finish binding on the man quilt.
I love this quilt so much that I think I will make another and change the block arrangement.

Sunday already?
This weekend has just flown by. The blocks completed this week are only a few because I have been appliquing birds on my newest blocks. This is another take on my neutral petal blocks. I love the appliqued birds.
My biggest accomplishment is that I started putting my tumelo trail blocks together. I used a different sashing than others I have seen. I was on the fence about it until I saw the photos. What do you think?

Haywood Arts Commission NC
I was invited to participate in an Artists Demo today. I demo'd needle turn applique. I was also able to display quilts for sale. One did sell and I'm so happy.
Denise demo'd other forms of hand needle work.
We were among other artists like beading, card making, using found pieces in art, water color painting, jewelry making and pottery. It was great to get to know and watch other artists in action. Thanks ladies for making me feel very welcome.

Finally a flimsy and tumelo trail blocks
After Months of waiting / aging, a fabric was selected for the border on the pedal to the metal quilt top. I think it adds more pizazz! I am teaching this class in September so I need to finish for the class sample.
All my tumelo trail blocks layed out.
