Visiting Family and quilts

I've been in Indiana for a week now. First for work, now for leisure. I happened to re-acquaint myself with a quilt I made in 2002. As I look over the loved and worn quilt, I realize that my quilt journey has progressed from 0 to as I am right now. I look at how I had made that quilt and think of all the learning and doing since 2002. That's a lot of quilts.

My grand kids here enjoyed their "new" quilts; the colts quilt and the wild colorful wave quilt. I know they will be loved and cherished.

I am looking forward to getting home and stitch a few. I have almost finished all the hand work I brought. I also have a new machine to pick up....:-))

Keep the quilt journey going and sorry for no pictures.

New Iron, Mr FQ Children

Back in December 2009, I bought a new rowenta steam generator iron. It never got hot enough (for me) and when I used the steam function, the water just poured out of the iron. I was informed to sent it to a company in Florida. I sent it early January 2010. After two months, I received a call stating Rowenta would send me a new one. It arrived last Thursday and it's a better system than what I had. It's a Rowenta EXPERT. WooHoo! The best part is "it works". Thank you Rowenta.

I am viciously cleaning the house as Mr. FQ children and grand children are coming on Wednesday for a visit. I'm almost finished with todays chores. This afternoon I will be sewing up a storm. Stitch a few, it'll make you feel wonderful.

Laura Wasiloski Class

Laura Wasiloski came to the state guild and taught 3 classes. I attended one called Bad Dog Good Cat. Since I am a cat person, I did the kitty quilt with a mouse.

Its not finished yet but when it is I'll post it here.

She had lots of gorgeous threads, I just had to have a "few"...

Downy - Quilt for kids

A fellow quilter showed a Downy "Quilts for Kids" quilt the other day at guild. Well I had to join in. I went to the web site here and sent an email. They send you everything you need EXCEPT the batting. (I pieced some from my scrap pile) All the fabrics are cut. You SEW and all is done by machine.

This is the completed quilt. How cute and yes I managed to get a couple blocks turned the wrong way. I don't think a child will mind...

A new bed quilt for hubby's grand daughter. She likes bright dazzling colors. I hope it's bright enough for her. I love it!

Lastly a "Love Quilt" made from braids and quilted with the breast cancer logo in pink.

Mr FQ has a significant birthday tomorrow. We spent part of the weekend away :-)))).

Spring Bulbs & Updates

The bulbs I planted last year are popping up all over the place. Makes me believe spring is around the corner.

A left over for the animal hospital. Spider Web mini quilt.

My grand daughter playing with one of my many frog toys.

The quilted Epworth quilt to be auctioned off. I used a computerized panto of hands.

More updates tomorrow. I've been very busy in the sewing room.
