Prairie Flower March - Wood Sorrel

I have secretly been doing a hand applique project by Barbara Brackman - Prairie Flower "A year on the plains". This is my March block, Wood Sorrel. With this one finished I have one more to do and that is June, Wild Cucumber. I have learned a lot doing this project.

A cat picture for you cat lovers. Tinker Belle is scheduled to get spade Monday and I'm really nervous about it. I'm already hurting for her...

Camping, Fishing and Quilting

This is the stream where we camped and fished. It's the KOA in Cherokee NC. Pictures are two days showing my catch. The last day I caught a 23 in Rainbow Trout. How fun.... He'll bake up real nice in my oven. Yum!

I never got my limit (of 10) but the size of some of the fish was great. Enjoy the pictures.

They really do go together.
A small ironing board, small iron and I was all set to do more applique prep. This was set up on my stove/kitchen counter. I did get a bit done when I wasn't fishing :-))))

My New Obsession and a sneak peak

My new obsession is a project called the Roseville Album Quilt done in brights. This is my first block minus the circles which I will add later. I'm loving this applique project. You can see more of everyone participating in a Kim McClean pattern here.

Cat Doll - Soon to be completed. She is so cool.

Our mountain trip starts tomorrow so there will be a week or so before another post.

The Quilted Wedding Quilt, Scrap Christmas Top and Tinker Belle

and of course blogger chooses the order....

A scrappy christmas quilt for a child. No pattern, just a sew as you go quilt. Based on what's on hand at the time.
Tinker Belle just snoozing in a laundry basket of clean whites. Oh to sleep the day away without a care in the world. She is getting so big and becoming more affectionate.
The quilted wedding quilt which came out beautiful....

Another post will follow today.........

Wedding Quilt - a group effort

Four of us made blocks, we each had 2 fabrics and selected the other fabric from our "stash". Margaret put the blocks together with sashing. Yesterday we picked out a backing from my stash. We selected the brandywine feather panto, some bright yellow/green quilt thread and the machine magically quilted. I have one remaining pass to do this morning. We were just too tired to finish yesterday. Quilt size is queen so it's rather large. This is a beautiful quilt.

Winner, Banu Quilt, Love Quilt

I won these fabric labels from Nat

Thanks Nat. I don't know what I will do with them, but I'm sure I'll think of something. I quilted this for a friend, who made it for her Mother. Very Creative and so was my quilting.

Last but not least, a love quilt with really cool quilting. Love the Cats in this quilt.

Stitching for calmness.

Scrap Progress, Love Quilts, Baby Quilt

I have been continuing my effort to empty the last bag of scraps. I do 30 to 60 minutes most evenings. I heard that there are more coming my way. :-))))))))))))))) Love Scraps. Last weekend I quilted 2 Love quilts that turned out fabulous. I'm finally thinking that my quilting is beautiful. In other words I am less critical on myself. This has taken a long time to accomplish. It's not the individual stitches BUT the overall effect.
Here is the baby quilt for a co-worker. Her shower was Tuesday and a little whoosh came out of her mouth when she pulled this quilt out of the bag... :-)
There is the second love quilt on the frame behind.

What would I do without quilting? I think I would be lost. It really has become so much of my life and SO ENJOYABLE.
