Time Off

After a long few months of working late, I am off for some comp time.

Today I sewed some crumb blocks or mile a minute blocks.  33 of them.  My sewing machine was smoking hot!

These blocks will be made into a love quilt or two.
And I have enough scrap stuff for a pet bed.
I have managed to get a few more Jane blocks completed.
The top left one may get redone as I'm not happy with it.

I plan to sew all week.

Weekend Update

My Dear Jane blocks in the last week have been only a few, like two.

I made up for it today...

And a beautiful butterfly enjoying my flowers.

My Latest Blocks

Here are the latest Dear Jane blocks.  I had most of these completed by last Monday

I also sewed a few string blocks as the string pile is out of control.

I will add these to my collection.

I am working on my COW Challenge quilt today, finishing it up.  What are you stitching?

Eight more darling Dear Jane Blocks

In the last week I have finished eight more cuties

I love the challenge of figuring how best to construct these blocks.

Here is a favorite spot around my porch.  Dee a and I planted these roots last November.  It was a fun day laughing and cutting up.  Thanks Dee.

Dear Jane Update and a family visit

Here are the latest Dear Jane blocks.

I have not posted due to my brother visiting from New York.  One day we walked the Lake Murray Dam.  Well David walked slow...  So when we got to the Irmo side, I left him in the shade and I power walked back to the car.  I picked him up and away we went.  What a great walk.

This is David before the walk...  I'll spare you the after picture.  It was really hot this day but luckily there was a little breeze.

A few days later we went to Billy Dreher Island to explore.  What a nice place.

We've had a wonderful visit.  Sadly he leaves tomorrow for the next leg of his vacation.

Orphan Block Fun

My laundry basket of orphan blocks has been pestering me....

I put a few more rounds on this one and a border.  I'm calling it done.  This would make a great guy quilt.

This one is a collaberation of many left over blocks from many quilts. I love the randomness.

I added these two tops to the the never ending stack of tops.  I'd rather have tops than a basket of blocks.

Sadly there are at least two more quilt tops that I can make from that basket.  Those are for another day.

I have a T Shirt quilt I am working on.  Need to at least get through the fusing of the stabilizer today.  Then I can do one of my favorite things, designing.

PS. Only a couple new dear Jane Blocks finished.  Hope to complete a couple tonight...

Weekend Update

I had two bags of scrap fiber and made two pet beds.  I used two blocks that are stars.  I wasn't crazy over either block so I bordered them to make them larger.  The animals at the hospital won't mind the crazy fabrics.  My cats have already tested them.  I believe they approve!

And some more Dear Jane blocks.  My blocks are not perfect, just as Janes were not. I modify blocks to suit my style (or fix to cover my screw ups).

Hope you found some time to stitch today.
