OMG Its Bound

I finished the binding on my O My Gosh quilt.  It's been washed and just needs a label.

It's much brighter than the picture shows.

And a close up...

Fabulous Friday

I quilted this quilt yesterday and today.  I also got the binding made and attached so I could take it with me to the mountains.  If I'm not fishing, I'll be stitching and there are two plus quilts that need binding stitched down.

My Grand Illusion is quilted.  This was the Bonnie Hunter Mystery for 2014.

I love how this quilted up.  I used YLI cotton thread in a variegated aqua color.

Now I can say that I am ready for the next Bonnie Hunter mystery which starts around the thanksgiving holiday.  Bring it on!

Sprouts are growing

My love sprouts are coming right along.  I think I will stop at 4 columns.  I have the top and bottom borders figured out.  What to do for the sides?

I started a quilt that will be a Christmas gift for a friend of ours.  I made them one last year but Dot has claimed it.  Poor Dennis is left out in the cold lol.  I'm not much for doing patterns per se but the magazine American Patchwork and Quilting August 2015 issue had a cart wheel pattern that really appealed to me.

I am adding another row and then will decide on sashings.

Also today Grand Illusion (last years Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt) is on the frame getting quilted.  I have a recipient selected and it will be a Christmas present.  After not having my side saddle for about nine months, the tops have stacked up.  It's time to get caught up especially at the rate that I piece...  Like there is tomorrow lol!

It's really pretty in person.  All the different fabrics bring back lots of memories.

Time to get back to it.

Weekend Update

What a weekend..  Friday I drove to Ashville for the annual quilt show.  I enjoyed the quilt show, vendors and seeing friends from near and far.

Friday evening I was treated to a Travis Trit concert which was FABULOUS,  Thanks Denise, had a great time.

Down comes the never ending rain.  Saturday morning at at 7am I made a mad dash from North Carolina to South Carolina.  And the rain continued and is still raining.  Never did I expect the devestation this storm has caused.  We are ok and property in tact but roads, bridges, dams and peoples homes are ruined.  The extent of the damage will not be known for days to come.  We were without power for about 10 hours.  Not bad considering....

So what's a girl to do... Well sew of course!

I have a third column completed on the sprouts of love quilt and I am loving it.

And neutrals strings completed last weekend.

And some green strings done this weekend.

As for tomorrow...the roads are in such bad shape they are asking people to stay off the roads so that sounds like a weather holiday to me.  I guess I'll just have to suffer through it lol.

So that might / will mean more sewing.  Yay!

O My Gosh it's quilted

.

It's gorgeous!  My heart is singing.

Also the third sprout column is well under way.

I have figured out what I will do on the bottom as well as the top.

As for what I was going to show you, well it didn't work out.  I hated it.  I tried to use whole pieces of fabrics for the arcs in the double wedding ring block.  In addition I have figured out why some parts did not fit.  Duh it helps to position the D part in the right orientation.  Live and learn...  It hasn't diminished my continuing on this quilt.  Full stream ahead lol.

On The Frame

My morning quilt is being quilted as I write this.  I wanted to have this quilt finished by the one year anniversary of my sons death.  That will be October 30.  So I think I will make it.  It is a Sue Garman pattern but I used inch and a half squares and added appliqué for the final border.  The top was completed in about ten days.  I took something so terrible and put my heart ache into a quilt.  Quilting is my therapy!

This is a bad picture, the quilt is MUCH LIGHTER than it shows.

Pattern is hearts and swirls.  I used So Fine thread in white top and bottom.  Yum!

Come back to see what else I'm working on, beside the sprouts...

New Sprouts

Here are the orange peels blocks this week.

It's rainy and yucky outside.  I'm very comfortable in my Jammie's and it's only 5pm.
