QOV Sew In

Oh what fun we had yesterday at our sew in. We sewed, laughed and ate, not necessarily in that order. Thanks Joanne for hosting. Your home is so comfortable.

We worked on the tenth anniversary block so Anne could take them for the block exchange.

We had a wonderful day. Next meeting will be the last Friday in August.

Pineapple Party

Today a few of us ladies challenged ourself to learn / be taught how to use the pineapple trim tool (ruler) by creative grids. Our instructor was Dee Doebler who was excellent. In a short time our sewing machines were smokin! Here is her step by step board.

Getting advice... Margaret came for a little while but had to leave. She is busy packing and moving to her dream home.


Judy who graciously hosted us at her lake house. Her finished pineapple block quilt top is totally scrappy. Just my style.


Here we are with all our completed blocks. It was such a fun day!!!

Long Weekend Update

I can't believe I've been off for,four days and not posted anything. I have been busy. More cleaning (BORING) and lots of sewing :-)

This top was quilted yesterday cotton batting, perma core on top and so fine on the bottom both in pinks. It's a sibling quilt.


The back is wilder than the front.


The baby quilt is really wild or as DH puts it LOUD. I love it!


While browsing blogs I came to a site with directions to a block called cake stand. It finishes at two inches (2.5 unfinished). I thought can I do this? Well I tried one and well I couldn't stop....


They are SO CUTE!!!!!
