Doll and quilt
I made the doll at retreat 2011. Her name is Crystal. The little quilt measures 12.25 X 18. It was made, using bonus triangles from another project. They are both at my job on my desk.

Busy Day
Yesterday I quilted a love quilt. I used the baptist fan panto.. When finished I had mixed emotions about the finish. I set up a hanging area between two trees (I have many). After seeing it hang outside its lovely. What do you think.

I couldn't resist hanging my court house steps quilt....

WOW!
Here are the blue strings I did yesterday. All that did not really make a dent in the blue string drawer. How is that possible?

Happy sewing / quilting on this Veterans Day weekend. I have served my country and fully support ALL military personnel serving their country!!

Court House Steps quilted and more
Yesterday was a productive day. Margeret came over and we sewed ALL DAY!!!!!! We both accomplished a lot. Margaret completed 16 star blocks that she is working, a commission. Me, I had started quilting the court house steps quilt Thursday night. Got two rows done before bed. Yesterday the machine ran all day till around 5:30.

The panto I used was giggle. I am SO HAPPY with the results.

Today I think i will try and string a rope between two trees, clothesline fashion to display my quilts.
last but not least some green string blocks from last Sunday.

Battle of the batting (Sunday)
You know all those scraps of batting that you cut off??? Well, when the pile gets too high, it's time to use them. I will be able to get at least 3 quilts from all the batting scraps. When they get too small to use, I donate them to a church.

And it being Sunday morning I baked bread, cinnamon rolls with chopped apples. They "we're" good, but now gone. I just might have to do it again this Sunday. Did you know that you could use parchment paper as a lining. Clean up is a breeze!
I have been steadily making small spool blocks with no project in mine. Just enjoying the process of making them and adding them to the drawer. I average about ten an evening on a work night. This makes a nice gentle ending of the day ahhhhhhhh!

Purple strings and more
As promised, here are the purple strings. They measure at 7 1/2 inches square. Aren't they yummy?

The whole stack so far. The spool of thread is 4 inches high.

This morning I have ground flour, made bread and two batches of apple raisin cinnamon rolls. They are rising as I write this. YUM!
Now I can play in the quilt heaven! Yes.

Strings and a flimsy
Yesterday I sewed pink colored strings. Aren't they pretty?

Last night I brought out the bag of court house step blocks that were Done more than a year ago.... I only had to make two more for the flimsy.
Today I sewed the rows together and put a border on. I began with a warm brown fabric. But after cutting and joining two pieces of fabric together, the quilt top was SCREAMING for something more exciting. So this is what I finally decided. I think I picked a fun print.

This will go on a full size bed. I wanted it to have enough of a over hang.

Tonight I have picked out purple strings for some wild sewing.
Hope you are having a quilty weekend....
