Doublin Ireland

Doublin is a beautiful city. Lots to see!

St Patricks Cathedral -awesome.

Floor designs inside the cathedral.

I can see many quilts from the floor designs. There was a small boys choir practicing while we visited. They sounded heavenly.

Trinity College Library

Architect: Thomas Burgh

Many old buildings that had me oohing as I love building architecture.

And we visited The Book of Kells which is an illuminated manuscript Gospel book in Latin, containing the four Gospels of the New Testament together with various prefatory texts and tables. It was created by Celtic monks ca. 800 or slightly earlier.

I'll try to get today's activities posted in the morning...no guarantees...I'm so tired. It's 9:30pm and still day time. It won't get dark until 10:30pm. Dark or not I'm putting myself to bed soon.

Ireland Dublin

Here is where we are staying. Lovely hotel but like a maze to get to your room. We are here for two nights. The water pressure is fabulous.

Dinner at a Irish Pub, the Celt. YUM!

I had a bowl of seafood chowder and Brown bread and butter. A pint also.

Margeret had a soup of carrots and coriander and a ham sandwich.

Great architecture on all the buildings.

The floor in the pub attached to our hotel a quilt pattern for sure.

Come back for more adventures.

A Last Minute Quilt

To take with me to Ireland. I can get the binding done on the long ride to Dublin. It will also double as show and tell, a nice quilt for all the beds I will sleep in. I am always more comfortable with a quilt from home.

The inner part, all the blue and yellow triangles were bought on eBay and converted to a quilt top. (Yes I know I have some poodling on one side, I'm Hoping it will even out after binding and washing.

The back

I used 80/20 batting, perma core thread on top and superior so fine on the bottom. Quilting was a leafy vine with a curly que.

Quilts for OK

Today one of my errands was to get two quilts shipped off for the victims a terrible tornado in Moore OK. The lady in front of me saw what I was doing and was so touched, she reached in her wallet and gave me $20.00 towards shipping. WOW!!!!

I was so surprised and grateful for the help. I love giving the gift of comfort.

I hope everybody stitched a little comfort today.

On the frame today...

A QOV top, quilted using funky fans pattern.

Last week I finished another love quilt. I used a square spiral pattern digital pattern. Obviously I need to work on nesting them together. But as it is, it looks good
