I completed six more star blocks this morning.  They are getting interesting with the combinations of fabric.  🐸

A Bag of Purple Scraps

Yes that's how this project go started.  I wanted to highlight the many different purple batik fabrics.  Well one thing led to another and here we are.  These are about 6.5 inches.  I don't know how big this top will end up but these are very relaxing and the combinations are endless.  🐸

Spring has arrived here in the south.  Our plum tree all bloomed out and lovely daffodils.

That Scrappy Blocks Top

is a finished top now.  One border side was stitched, ripped and re-engineered.  I didn't want to be quilting wavy borders.  Now it lays flat like it should and I love it.  So much fabulous color.  This top will be quilted up and donated as a Quilty hug for chemo patients.  🐸

Scrappy Blocks Top Progress

Yesterday I got the first borders sewn on.  For some reason I wanted to continue the darkness.  Maybe because I was going to add in some of my many 4 patches.  I'm really liking where this is going.  It will ne donated as a Quilty hug.  I have five ready to go, only need labels and a good wash.

A few weeks ago I posted about a wool pressing mat that I had bought from Walmart on line.  A few of you wanted my opinion on it.  Well I have used it a lot.  You can tell from the pictures just how much I like it.  No regrets at all on buying this mat.  Love it!

Those Flying Geese Units

Did you know that scraps breed more scraps?  Well they do, so you always have an ever growing supply. My two inch blocks are busting out of their container so you know what that means.... Yep, a quilt using them and some flying geese. I'm thinking two tops so I get the secondary pattern to show up. There will be one with dark inner swuares and another with light inner squares.  🐸

Playing With My Toys

I love a lap cat and Maestro is one who likes to give me therapy.  So this is a common scene at my house.  Of course it is not always Maestro.  Currently I have Sebastian on upper thighs and Maestro laying on my lower legs.  Ahhhhh.

So on to playing with my toys.  I quilted two tops today and enjoyed it.  🐸

Mr Tale has join the effort. He lays right beside me with hip contact.

Those Flying Geese

Were added to the last stripe blocks after a slim inner border.  I have to say that this is now my favorite.  All the colors and patterns oooooh!  🐸

Another stripe quilt

I put the last borders on this evening after work.  This is my favorite top so far.  I also sewed the remaining blocks into a top.  It will need borders to get it to a lap size.  🐸

The first rainbow top

The first rainbow top is together.  This would be suitable for a man. Lucy did the QA.  Enjoy.  🐸

A Little Update

Look what the FedEx guy brought me.  My new wool pressing mat.  I bought it from Walmart on line.

All week I have been sewing color sets from my jam packed two inch strip bin.  Pink was the last color unless I decide to do black.  All have been sewn, pressed, starched and trimmed to 8 inches.  Now it's time to play.  Hopefully I will post later today with a new top.  🐸
