North Carolina. Active quilter and long armer. If it’s scrappy I love it!

Stuck Inside

I’m sure most of you are as well.  I don’t mind being at home but dislike being told to.  Makes me want to go out.  It’s  ok I will survive. I am down to my last two rolls of toilet paper.  I didn’t check the bathroom downstairs. Maybe there is some there.

Like many of you I am staying busy getting small chores done.  Some have patiently waited.

In the studio I have been busy.  My Temecula Treasure Hunt is ready for borders.  Then it can be quilted which shouldn’t take long as it is a small quilt.  A nice lap quilt.

I have a bucket of cut off strips from quilts etc.  it was time to tackle it.  I divided it into male and female type fabrics.  I have seen all the female fabrics and cut the leftovers into 6.5 strips to add to the longer strips.

I’ll do the male tops another day.

These quilts to be, will make someone feel special and that does my heart good.

Activity in the studio

I quilted up this top yesterday that is going to a 7 month old boy who had heart surgery on Monday.  I took a fat quarter package from the Fat Quarter Shop that was on the shelf.  The back is from a bolt of animal fabric that I thought the baby would have fun looking at.  I stubbed in a piece of orange to make it wide enough.

Leave it to blogger to arrange them incorrectly.

A couple of pictures from last night as a few of my cats snuggled with me.  Lucy is on the left and Sebastian on the right.

Back to the real world

I have been back almost a week now and trying to get in the daily groove. Let just say that this trip was fabulous. All my plane connections went as scheduled.

A fellow traveler was looking for someone to go to the howler monkey reserve with a guide.  He needed two people to make worth it.  So I was the second person.  He drove to the monkey reserve and found the monkey guide.  He lured the monkeys down with leaves and later bananas.  They came down to us and it was a real treat to see these monkeys up close.

We were given quite the local flavor of the Belize people by our driver.  We learned so much it was worth the trip.

Here on my design wall is the latest on my vintage farm girl top and the Temecula Treasure Hunt top.  I’m happy with both of them.
