Friday evening relaxation

After driving home from Florence through heavy rain storms and traffic I settled in to finish quilting this top for Heart Builders.  It is the last one so I can send all of them.

I have been really trying to stretch my machine quilting skills by trying new hand guided patterns.  The one I mastered this time was the orange peel.  It was a little awkward at first but by the end of the quilt I was fairly comfortable.  Feathers were mastered long ago.

Here are pictures from this morning where the light and shadow were perfect.

  3. Excellent! I have only been able to do this design if I mark it first, and that gets tedious. You have done beautiful work--love the feathered border, too. :)
